Well done to the 21 teams who took part in this afternoon’s Years 3 and 4 Rapid Fire Cricket festival. The standard of play improved throughout the afternoon as the teams got to grips with some tricky rules regarding fielding and batting. Spectators and School Staff were treated to some glorious 6-hitting over the boundary cones, whilst the fielding and teamwork on show was very impressive. All 21 played in a series of matches which were well umpired by school staff. As with all of our Festivals, we aim to develop children’s understanding of the rules alongside the skills required, so that they are better prepared for the Finals events which take place as they get older.
Once again, Harlow School Sports Partnership Manager, David Stacey, thanked the Harlow Town Cricket Club for hosting the event, which the children and spectators thoroughly enjoyed. The teams who attended were as follows:
Henry Moore x 3
Nazeing x 2
Tanys Dell x 2
Jerounds x 2
St Albans
St Lukes
Saint Nicholas x 2
The Downs
Milwards
William Martin
Church Langley x 2
Little Parndon x 2
Pemberley
