Boccia festival – a big hit for all involved.

Well done to all the 27 teams who attended the Boccia Festival for children in Years 3 and 4 at Mark Hall Sports Centre this morning; the event was a huge success, with over 120 pupils playing a series of games under the watchful eyes of Mark Hall Sports Leaders.

Having played the first round of matches, teams were re-pooled twice more during the morning event, playing teams of similar abilities. The staff were full of praise for the development and skills on show and the children thrived in this environment.

Eventually, from the 27 starting teams, the final groupings saw Harlowbury 1 take first place and the gold medals, with Purford Green 1 in second place and St James 2 in third.

Event organizers David Stacey and Luke Hammond were full of praise for the children and gave HUGE thanks to Mr. Phil Dawes and the Mark Hall students who were actually on an Non-Pupil day and gave up their time to make such a difference – they were amazing and their support was really appreciated.

Teams who participated were: Church Langley x 4; Harlowbury x 2; Hatfield Heath x 2; Henry Moore x 3; Milwards x 2; Nazeing x 4; Pear Tree Mead x 2; Pemberley; Purford Green x 2; St James x 2; Tanys Dell x 2; and The Downs.
