Well done to all the participants from the 18 teams of Years 3 and 4, who had a fantastic time at the Basketball Festival this morning. With the support of the Harlow Hawks (vis the use of the hoops) we were able to have 4 courts in continuous use at the Mark Hall Sports Centre. Lots of games meant lots of experience and opportunities for the 100+ younger children to learn the game and understand the rules, which is always great preparation for the competitive events as they get older.
As ever, thanks were given to the incredible school staff who organise for the children to take part in these amazing opportunities and to Luke Hammond, Gill Pardoe and David Stacey for their tireless work to run these events. Special mention for Hare Street Headteacher Neil Coster – who umpired at very short notice. Great job everyone, another fantastic event for all involved.
Teams involved were: Cooks Spinney x 2, Freshwaters x 2, Hare Street x 2, Jerounds x 2, Longwood x 2, Newhall x 2, Pear Tree Mead, Pemberley, St Albans, St James, St Lukes and St Nicholas.
