Church Langley take Gold in dramatic Kurling finish.

An amazing finish seemed fitting to end another amazing day of primary school sport in Harlow. Church Langley 6 literally took the first place with the very last ‘stone’ at this afternoon’s Kurling to cap a terrific day’s play.

Following the superb event in the morning, we had 25 teams attending the afternoon session for the Years 5 and 6 pupils. Some late withdrawals allowed schools to bring extra pupils and nearly 200 pupils had an absolute blast in the ‘semi’ competitive environment. Following first round group matches, the teams were ranked and polled according to their positions. The top five consisted of Nazeing, Tanys Dell and 3 Church Langley teams. The matches were very tense and exciting, with Church Langly 6 taking victory with the very last throw, narrowly edging Tany’s Dell into 3rd place (on count back) and Church Langley 3 into runner’s up position.

As per the mornings’ event, thanks was given to Luke Hammond (SGO) David Stacey (Harlow School Sport Partnership Manager) and Gill Pardoe for their work organising the event and to Mr. Dawes (Mark Hall Academy) and his team of 10 Year 10 Sports Leaders who were amazing; they helped to ensure the event ran like clockwork.

Teams taking part were:

Church Langley x 9, St James, Cooks Spinney x 2, Freshwaters x 2, Harlowbury x 2, Nazeing x 3, Jerounds x 2, Tanys Dell x 2 and Little Parndon x 2.
