Church Langley take first at Indoor Sportshall Finals.

Congratulations to the team from Church Langley Primary, who edged out the other 7 teams in the finals of the Years 5 and 6 Indoor Sportshall Athletics at Mark Hall Sports Centre.

The final sportshall event of the year, saw the 8 highest scorers from last week’s qualifying rounds return to MHA to compete for the coveted title and the opportunity to chance to represent Harlow in the County Finals. As expected, the finals were a very tight affair, with the pupils showing amazing skills on the track and in the field events. The races were tight, with several runners achieving personal bests and most teams recording at least one first place finish in their heat.

Once again, thanks were given to the awesome 40+ Sports Leaders from Mark Hall Academy, who have organised events and collected scores superbly throughout the 4 day of events we have held this year. It is incredible to the think that nearly 1500 primary-age athletes have taken part in the 7 different events, which have been organised amazingly by David Stacey (Church Langley), Luke Hammond (SGO) and Gill Pardoe – the work behind the scenes to run these events is incredible, and they have ensured that all the equipment (which has been bought by the Harlow primary Schools) is organised and ready for when the athletes arrive.

We wish Church Langley all the very best as they travel to Southend later in the Spring term to compete in the County Finals.
