Harlow School Sports Partnership

The Indoor Sportshall Athletics events continued with the annual Years 1 and 2 event being held at Mark Hall Sports Centre. A staggering 19 teams participated in this event, the most we have ever seen, and they were an absolute pleasure to lead. The fantastic Sports Leaders from Mark Hall Academy guided the athletes through the 4 field events (chest push, standing long jump, speed bouncers and soft javelin) and the 3 track events. As always, the school staff were on hand to ensure the youngest pupils were taking part in the correct event; it was a fantastic morning which ran incredibly smoothly, finishing well ahead of schedule thanks to fabulous organisation by David Stacey (Church Langley), Luke Hammond (SGO) and Gill Pardoe.

Although scores were collected, the whole event is designed to enable to pupils to develop experience of what is to come in future years whilst having fun.

19 teams took part: Church Langley, Cooks Spinney, Freshwaters x 2, Hare Street, Harlowbury x 2, Henry Moore, Jerounds x 2, Longwood x 2, Milwards, Pemberley x 2, Purford Green, St Lukes, St Nicholas, The Downs and William Martin.
