Well done to the 20 teams who ventured across to Passmores Academy this morning to take part in the annual Tchoukball Festival! Despite being a relatively new game to Harlow, the children made huge progress in terms of match-play and tactical understanding, simply by playing the game. The teams of 5 players really enjoyed the multi-directional element of the game, which required them to make quick decisions in order to score points or prevent their opponents from doing so. There is a healthy amount of ‘risk or reward’ associated with the game of Tchoukball and many of the schools who were playing for the first time have already made enquiries about purchasing equipment for school use.
As ever thanks were given to Passmores academy for allowing use of their facilities and providing sports leaders to assist with the event. Thanks were give to the organisers and officials who continue to provide these opportunities – another 120 children returned to school this afternoon filled with pride at having represented their school.
Teams taking part were:
The Downs, Pear Tree Mead x 2, Church Langley x 2, Cooks Spinney x 2, Purford Green x 5, Little Parndon x 2, Hare Street x 2, Freshwaters x 2 and Potter Street x 2
