Huge congratulations to all the swimmers and staff who attended this years Harlow Primary School’s Swimming Gala at the Leisure Zone. Despite a large number of late school withdrawals, the 21 teams over both events were fantastic and, as ever, the event was amazing for a host of reasons. Despite the heat inside, the swimmers kept their cool and produced some amazing performances, the standout being the Years 5/6 Boys’ Butterfly, which saw an incredible time of 18 seconds from the young man from Holy Cross!
Both events, the Years 3 and 4 in the morning and the Years 5 and 6 in the afternoon ran like clockwork – thanks as ever to the school staff for organising their teams. Without access to your own pool, we know it takes a huge amount of effort to select a team and organise all the logistics on the day. Thanks to David Stacey, Luke Hammond and Gill Pardoe for their outstanding work, to run, time, and medal all 60 races within the 3.5 hours – a superb team effort, that didn’t go unnoticed by pupils, staff and spectators.
Congratulations to the Year 3 and 4 team from The Henry Moore for taking overall first place in the morning gala and to the Year 5 and 6 team from Saint Nicholas who took first place in the afternoon event.
