Well done to everyone involved in the annual Cricket Festival at Harlow Town CC; the morning of activities was a fantastic sight to see. Just over 200 children descended upon the cricket club to complete a carousel of different cricket-based skills. Led by 13 fantastic Year 6 Sports Leaders from Church Langley Primary School, the children took great delight when developing their skills of throwing, batting and bowling. School staff helped to create a brilliant atmosphere by joining in the games and helping to organise their teams at each new game.
School Sports Partnership Manager, David Stacey, was delighted at the increase in numbers for this year’s event. “I was a bit worried about the strong winds at 7am, when we were here setting up, but the weather was kind and the children had an amazing time. For any young children who are interested in playing cricket the ECB run an Allstars and Dynamos program at various clubs in and around Harlow – details can be found on the England Cricket Board website www.ecb.co.uk/play. Huge thanks to all of the children, school staff and sports staff involved; massive thanks to Nick from Harlow Town CC for providing such as fantastic venue.”
The teams involved were: Nazeing x 2, The Downs, Church Langley, Cooks Spinney, Freshwaters, Hare Street, Pemberley, Hatfield Heath x 2, Milwards x 2, Purford Green x 3, Saint Nicholas x 2 and Potter Street.
