Purford Green Girls crowned Champions at Football Finals

Congratulations to the awesome Years 5 and 6 girls’ team from Purford Green, who narrowly edged Church Langley to claim the first trophy of the new academic year. Following the glorious weather of the morning, the afternoon event on bigger pitches boasted even more entries with a staggering 24 teams competing in groups. A high standard of play continued throughout the opening round and into the ranked matches, culminating in Purford’s 2-0 victory in the final.

We wish the girls from Purford Green great success as they will represent Harlow in the forthcoming County Finals, competing against the best from all over of Essex.

Once again, thanks were given to everyone involved in a combined effort behind the scenes to enable over 200 girls the opportunities of representing their school in a competitive environment.

Teams participating: Abbotsweld, Church Langley, Cooks Spinney, Fawbert and Barnard, Freshwaters x 2, Hare Street x 2, Henry Moore x 2, Holy Cross, Jerounds, Katherines, Latton Green, Longwood, Milwards, Nazeing, Potter Street, Purford Green, Roydon, Saint Nicholas, Tanys Dell, The Downs and Water Lane.
