Well done to the 24 teams from Years 3 and 4, who attended the annual Kurling Festival at Mark Hall Sports Centre this morning. As ever, the preparation in advance of the festival, ensured a very smooth event – thanks were given to David Stacey and Luke Hammond who continue to organise such amazing events, providing weekly opportunities for a wide range of primary school pupils.
After several games, ends and stone-kurling the teams were re-pooled twice before playing about similar standard opponents. Eventually, the top 3 teams played each other in the finals group with Tanys Dell 1, narrowly edging out two teams from the Downs (1 and 2) to take first place.
Thanks to the fantastic Sports Leaders from Mark Hall Academy, who officiated superbly to keep everyone involved and on task. 24 teams participated: Church Langley x 2, Cooks Spinney x 2, Freshwaters x 2, Hare Street x 2, Harlowbury x 2, Jerounds, Latton Green, Milwards x 2, Pemberley x 2, Purford Green x 2, Roydon x 2, Tanys Dell x 2 and The Downs x 2.
