Another Friday, another first for the amazing school staff team of Harlow Primary School’s as Pickleball was added to the plethora of opportunities provided. Utilising some funding from Active Essex, organiser David Stacey and Luke Hammond, joined forces with Brandon Ralph (Pemberley) and the Harlow Tennis Club to put on a ‘Come and Try Festival’ inside the dome at Bush Fair.
The result was around 100 pupils (22 teams) attending a morning event, where they played various games, practised skills associated with this fast-growing sport.
Despite the cold temperatures, the children had a fabulous time and inspired the adults to add this annual event to an already bursting sporting calendar of opportunities. Huge thanks to Will Calvert and Luke Spooner for their support and to the players and staff from the following schools for attending: Church Langley x 3, Cooks Spinney x 2, Hare Street x 2, Milwards x 2, Pear Tree Mead, Pemberley x 2, Purford Green x 2, Nazeing x 2, Roydon x 2, St Nicholas x 2 and The Downs x 2.
