What a difference a week makes! The freezing weather from last week was a distance memory, as the 12 hockey finalists from the qualifying event, returned to Passmores Academy for an afternoon of intense competition.
The early rounds saw some exceptional play between the 3 groups, with amazing goals, tackles, and performances throughout all of the group games. After 6 matches, the semi-finals were played between Church Langley 1 versus Henry Moore 1; and Church Langley 2 versus Church Langley 2. Both games were tight contests, with the Church Langley teams just edging out their opponents across both pitches. The Final itself between the 2 Church Langley teams was a very cagey affair, with neither sides ‘blinking’, resulting in a shared result. Henry Moore 1, narrowly edged out their counterparts, but all 4 teams congratulated each other in a fantastic show of sportsmanship.
Thanks were given to David Stacey, Luke Hammond and Steve Hannam for organising and umpiring all the matches. Congratulations to all the teams on a fantastic afternoon of primary school sport.
Teams attending were: Church Langley 1, 2, 3 and 4, Henry Moore 1 and 2, Nazeing 1 and 2, Jerounds, Abbotsweld, Roydon 1 and Milwards 1.
