Despite the warm weather conditions, 8 teams of ‘budding ballers’ attended the annual Futsal Festival at Church Langley Primary School. The event, which usually takes place in the Autumn term, was rearranged for the summer term. Even though the temperature reached highs of 270 degrees, organisers David Stacey and Luke Hammond ensured that players’ welfare remained top priority: games were reduced to 5 minutes one-way; teams not playing rested under shade; over 180 ice pops were handed out to all participants throughout the event; and the water sprinkler kept players cool!
The players grew in confidence throughout the shortened event, producing impressive skills and great teamwork. The morning was a great success – a final sporting event for many of the Year 6 pupils involved.
Teams taking part: Church Langley x 3; Purford Green x 2; Tanys Dell x 2; and Pemberley
